As a psychotherapist for almost 20 years, I have practiced utilizing different theoretical frameworks and models of talk therapy. There are times, however, when talk therapy is either not enough, or is not necessary at all! After being introduced to NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback by a colleague, I was intrigued to say the least. But knowing I could only offer something to clients that I believed in and found helpful myself, I began using the system. At first the shifts I noticed were subtle. As I continued to train, I was sure my sleep was more sound – and along with practicing mindfulness, I noticed I was getting less and less “hijacked” by my initial reactions to situations that used to cause heightened emotional reactivity (what most people refer to as getting their buttons pushed). People around me began to notice something was different… my daughter commented that she found it easier to talk to me. Others mentioned they noticed I had an easier time making decisions. That’s all I needed to know to confidently offer brain training to others. I am now gratefully sharing NeurOptimal® with my family, friends, and clients.

A bean counter by day who was hooked after the first time I tried NeurOptimal®. By nature, I am a skeptical person, but open to trying something “new” to improve myself. Believing neurofeedback worked was necessary for me to be comfortable sharing it with others. I immediately noticed a change in the quality of my sleep. I woke more rested and ready to get out of bed. I also noticed an improvement in my focus while working with numbers all day. Before NeurOptimal®, I would read and re-read the same info because of an inability to maintain my focus and concentration. I now experience more mental clarity and am able to remain engaged throughout the day. A skeptic no more, I now look forward to sharing NeurOptimal® with everyone! As a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor, my passion is working with young adults struggling with substance abuse. I’m so grateful for how NeurOptimal® has changed my life and am insanely pumped that I’m able to utilize neurofeedback to assist my clients in progressing in their recovery. Along with millions of other people, I struggle with anxiety and the stresses of every day life.
